MESOTHERAPY
WHAT IS MESOTHERAPY?
Mesotherapy is a medical specialty for the reduction
and elimination of fat and cellulite from the body.
This non-surgical procedure involves micro-injections
of medicines, natural plant extracts and homeopathics
into the mesoderm or middle layer of the skin. Mesotherapy
works directly at the site of the problem by stimulating
the body to repair damage to the structural layer
of the skin that allows for the unsightly appearance
of cellulite. It also stimulates the breakdown of
fat and inhibits formation of additional fat. Unlike
liposuction, mesotherapy requires no downtime, no
anesthesia and it is effective on both fat and cellulite.
Mesotherapy works for both women and men on problem
areas such as the belly, waistline, back, buttocks,
love handles, thighs, saddle bags, neck, chin and
arms. Only FDA approved equipment and ingredients
are used. Mesotherapy was formulated and began in
France in 1952. Dr. Dyer trained under Lionel
Bissoon, D.O., the physician accredited with
introducing mesotherapy to the United States.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A MESOTHERAPY CONSULT?
First, Dr. Dyer has a personal consultation with
you to review your medical history and discuss your
desired results. Any questions that you have will
be answered at this time. Measurements and photographs
are taken to establish a baseline in order to gauge
your results of treatment. Next, all of the ingredients
in the mesotherapy solution are described in detail,
including how they work and possible side effects
of treatment. The treatment is explained and steps
that patients must follow before and after treatment
are listed.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A MESOTHERAPY TREATMENT
Before your treatment, your skin is cleaned and
prepped. Your desired results are discussed and
your body is mapped accordingly. This is done so
that Dr. Dyer is able to do the right treatment
for your body. Some cellulite is not visible when
you are lying down. It is important to map your
body when you are standing and your problem areas
are most evident. During the mesotherapy treatment,
you will receive many micro-injections. Our experience
is that pain varies from person to person. All measures
are taken to ensure that you are most comfortable
during the treatment.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AFTER MESOTHERAPY?
After mesotherapy you can expect to be sore. Bring
loose fitting clothes to change into after treatment.
This soreness is typical and will resolve after
24- 48 hours. It is not advisable to exercise or
do strenuous activity that would cause the medicine
to be excreted through the pores in your skin. After
that time period, it is advisable to take hot baths
and resume your daily routine. Diet and exercise
are encouraged to aid in the weight loss. Treatment
is usually repeated on a weekly basis.
